Biden’s New ‘Amnesty’ Executive Order Will Face Legal Challenges

 June 20, 2024

Earlier this week, Biden made another desperate attempt to lure in the Hispanic voters with another executive order.

The order gives mass amnesty to roughly 500,000 illegal immigrants.

Biden Issues Executive Order on Immigration

On Tuesday, the 12th anniversary of Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy, Biden announced a new executive order. The order will provide amnesty for illegal immigrant spouses of American citizens. It would block them from being deported, allow them to obtain work permits, and provide a pathway to legal status.

The individuals that would qualify for the program would have had to have been in the United States for at least 10 years, been legally married to a U.S. citizen, and had to be approved by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). All those approved would have three years to apply for permanent residency. Needless to say, Donald Trump immediately attacked Biden on the new policy, stating:

"It's been a nonstop catastrophe, but one of crooked Joe's most destructive moves yet is the lawless executive action he's taken today.

"Under this program, a deluge of illegals will be given immediate green cards and put on the fast track to rapid citizenship so they can vote."

Legal Challenges Expected Against Executive Order

Immigration watchdogs as well as Republicans are already mounting legal challenges to the order. For instance, James Massa, CEO of NumbersUSA stated:

"Rather than stopping the worst border crisis in history, President Biden has overreached his executive authority to use an unconstitutional process, circumventing voters and their elected representatives in Congress, to send a message that amnesty is available to those who enter illegally into the United States.

"The action is unconstitutional. The timing is unconscionable."

Joey Chester, communications manager for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, added:

"Parole is intended to be very narrow, allowing inadmissible aliens to enter on a temporary and case-by-case basis only.

"Parole-in-place has no basis in law and rewards those who broke U.S. immigration law. These illegal aliens will get work permits, green cards, and a path to citizenship – sending a message around the world that if you cross our borders illegally and stay here long enough, you will eventually get amnesty."

Analysis

For most of us, orders such as this are infuriating. This is clearly a move by Biden to try to endear himself to Hispanic voters, but I think it will have the opposite impact on those who came over to this country legally. However, it will eventually load up Democrat voter roles, which is why Biden is doing this.

This has to be challenged, and it must be defeated. He is literally rewarding people for circumventing our immigration system. How are all the people in this country who did this legally supposed to feel about this? I can tell you from personal experience that the legal process costs tens of thousands of dollars, as I have a family member who legally brought a spouse into this country, and the legal bills and hoops that he and our family had to jump through for this were staggering.

As Chester stated, all this does is encourage people to break our immigration laws, knowing that eventually, a Democrat will try to bail them out. It is called illegal immigration for a reason. We have a process, and we have a limit, and if we continue down this road, Democrats will turn the United States into a third-world country.
