Biden Issues Mass Pardon for Gay Military Members

 June 27, 2024

Joe Biden loves to pretend he is a friend to minorities, the LGBTQ+ community, and military members.

He just issued a mass pardon on this front, but the media failed to tell people that Biden was responsible for the charges being levied in the first place.

Biden Controversial Legislative History

In 1991, Joe Biden was one of the primary architects of the Violence Crime Control Act. This was a precursor to the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act that was passed in 1994. This is the legislation that has been widely credited with the mass incarceration of minority men in this country, specifically black men. When Biden was pushing this legislation on the Senate floor, he stated:

“We have predators on our streets that society has in fact, in part because of its neglect, created.

“They are beyond the pale many of those people, beyond the pale. And it’s a sad commentary on society. We have no choice but to take them out of society.”

Keep in mind, while Biden was pushing this legislation, he had already gotten Hunter out of trouble for a DUI possession of narcotics in New Jersey, and Hunter would later be kicked out of the Navy for using cocaine, but Hunter never faced charges himself. Which brings us to Biden’s next big piece of legislation.

During this same period, Joe Biden voted for an amendment to the military code of justice that would bar LGBTQ+ military members from displaying their actions and relationships publicly. This was covered in HR2401, which you can check the record on, with Biden having voted in favor of the measure. This measure was eventually repealed under the Biden administration, but countless veterans were charged with this amendment.

Biden’s Mass Pardon

Since taking office, Joe Biden has pardoned thousands of minorities who were imprisoned by Biden’s crime bill. Now, he is doing the same thing for military members who were prosecuted under legislation that Biden helped pass. They had been convicted under the Uniform Code of Military Justice’s former Article 125. In announcing his pardon, Biden stated:

“Today, I am righting an historic wrong by using my clemency authority to pardon many former service members who were convicted simply for being themselves. Our Nation’s service members stand on the frontlines of freedom, and risk their lives in order to defend our country.

“Despite their courage and great sacrifice, thousands of LGBTQI+ service members were forced out of the military because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Some of these patriotic Americans were subject to court-martial, and have carried the burden of this great injustice for decades.”

Biden later added:

“This is about dignity, decency, and ensuring the culture of our Armed Forces reflect the values that make us an exceptional nation. We have a sacred obligation to all of our service members – including our brave LGBTQI+ service members: to properly prepare and equip them when they are sent into harm’s way, and to care for them and their families when they return home. Today we are making progress in that pursuit.”

Analysis

So, I cannot help but ask, where was the decent treatment of these individuals in the 1990s and over the next two decades? Once again, Biden spilled the milk and wants credit for cleaning it up, just as he tried to do with this crime bill. The media gushes over Biden with these pardons, but they fail to mention that they would not have been needed had Biden not worked to pass the original legislation. It is similar to Biden wanting to see military members who did not want to take the vaccine to be dishonorably discharged... Biden is no friend to these people unless they benefit his agenda.

Biden and Democrats want minorities and the gay community to believe that we hate them, which is not the case. Sticking up for children regarding transitions and not being exposed to content that is outside their age bracket is not being hateful. Clearly, minorities in this country have come to the realization that the Dems use them as props, and we can only hope the LGBTQ+ community and our military, past and present, realize this as well. At least conservatives are open and upfront with our issues, whereas Dems are just complete hypocrites, pretending to be their friends while passing legislation that destroys these communities.
