Biden Caves to Far Left Contingent in Party, Won’t Be Listed in New Hampshire

 October 25, 2023

There has been a movement by the far left in the Democrat Party to change the order of the primary races.

Part of this is eliminating New Hampshire from the early voting stages, which would more or less make the state irrelevant in the primary race.

Talking Points…

  • Breaking tradition
  • Why it's important
  • My Two Cents…

Breaking Tradition

The far left of the Democrat Party believes the early voting states in the election are not diverse enough to represent the party.

That being the case, they hoped to change the order of the primary race.

In support of that idea, Joe Biden is breaking with a tradition that goes back more than a century, not putting his name on the primary ballot in New Hampshire.

Biden Campaign Manager Julie Chávez Rodríguez explained his reasoning to the New Hampshire Democrat Party in a letter, writing:

"While the president wishes to participate in the Primary, he is obligated as a Democratic candidate for President to comply with the Delegate Selection Rules for the 2024 Democratic National Convention promulgated by the Democratic National Committee.

"In accordance with this guidance, Biden for President will refrain from submitting a Declaration of Candidacy for the Primary ahead of Friday's candidate filing deadline for the Primary."

The new rules set by the DNC mean that the New Hampshire primary is now not sanctioned by the party, basically silencing the vote in New Hampshire.

Why New Hampshire is Important

New Hampshire has one of the smallest contingents of delegates in the entire election, which plays a large part in why the state has been an early-voting state since 1920.

This has allowed the state to draw candidate attention it would not otherwise receive. If, for instance, this state voted after Super Tuesday, its votes would be meaningless. This is the beauty of our election season in that it makes all states relevant.

What would otherwise be considered an afterthought now becomes a key player in the presidential election, forcing candidates to campaign heavily in New Hampshire to get off to a fast start in the race.

There is a brief but very informative report on this on the Hotel Concord website.

My Two Cents…

I really believe this is just an unfair move by Democrats to more or less rig their primary races.

They are going to set up their calendar to minimize the impact of a candidate the establishment does not want to see elected.

Not only does this move by the Democrat Party, which Biden endorses, nullify voters in New Hampshire in this election, but it will penalize the state in the future by stripping it of half its delegates in the general election.
