We all know why Joe Biden does not do interviews with serious journalists because he does not want to face pushback on his lies.
That point was proven yet again after a disgraceful interview with CNN, during which he again lied about the numbers when he took over the White House.
Talking Points…
- Biden's claim on inflation
- The real numbers
- Analysis
Erin Burnett, who had no problem fact-checking Donald Trump in real-time, let Biden get away with murder during this interview. She started out hitting Biden with some hard numbers, but then she just let him rant and blatantly lie. For instance, Burnett told Biden:
"Voters, by a wide margin, trust Trump more on the economy — they say that in polls — and part of the reason for that may be the numbers.
"The cost of buying a home in the United States is double what it was — when you look at your monthly costs — from before the pandemic. Real income, when you account for inflation, is actually down since you took office, economic growth, last week, fell short of expectations. Consumer confidence — maybe no surprise — is near a two-year low."
Biden then responded:
"[N]o president's had the run we've had in terms of creating jobs and bringing down inflation. It was nine percent when I came into office, nine percent.
"There's corporate greed going on out there, and it's got to be dealt with."
Why we are fact-checking Biden and Burnett did not call him out in real-time is a mystery to me. If she was going to ask Biden a question about inflation and the economy, she should have been armed to the teeth with the numbers to call out Biden when he lied, which we all know he does every time he sits down.
In reality, the average inflation when Donald Trump was in office was 2.1%, 2.45%, 1.8%, and 1.2%, respectively, from 2017 to 2020. During Trump's last month in office, inflation was 1.4%, as it was when Joe Biden took office in January 2021.
Inflation quickly rose out of control, hitting 4.2% in April 2021 and peaking at 9.1% in June 2022. The average inflation rates during Biden's presidency by year have been 4.7%, 8.0%, and 4.1%. Inflation is again ticking back up this year, with the first three months' numbers being 3.1%, 3.2%, and 3.5%, respectively. April's number is due out next week.
Biden also continues to lie about job numbers, always conveniently not mentioning that the overwhelming majority of jobs that came back during his administration were due to jobs lost during the pandemic coming back. A monkey could have been sitting in the Oval Office, and 12 million jobs would have been "created" during the administration's first two years.
The bottom line here is that the average American is completely uneducated on these numbers and only goes by what they hear on the news. Had Burnett pushed back, she would have at least given people a reason to question Biden's numbers, but that was not the case.
Instead, if you look at the interview on social media, all the liberal influencers are gushing over the interview and talking about how wonderful Joe Biden's economy is. They say we should be grateful for what Joe Biden has done for us, but that is not reality. It is merely a fantasy that Biden, his administration, and Democrats, as well as the mainstream media, have created to try to help Biden in the election again in 2024. It is shameful, really, that a publication like ours has to call out a mainstream media outlet for failing to have done the basics of journalism when it comes to conducting an interview, especially when you are discussing hard numbers that cannot be argued.
