During a recent rally, Donald Trump referred to illegal aliens as "animals," which, of course, Democrats, the media, and the Biden campaign jumped all over.
The only problem was that, like Trump's "bloodbath" comment, it was taken out of context.
Talking Points…

- Biden's campaign called out
- Analysis
Trump was discussing the death of Laken Riley, the 22-year-old woman who was allegedly killed by an illegal immigrant while having gone out for a run. It came to light after the fact that the suspect and his brother both had criminal records and arguably should have never been in the country in the first place.
Trump met with Riley's family and talked about it during the rally. Trump had stated:
"Just a few weeks ago I met with the grieving family of Laken Riley.
"[Laken Riley was] barbarically murdered by an illegal alien animal. Democrats said please don't call immigrants' animals.' I said, no, they're not humans, they're animals."
Democrats, as I am sure Trump suspected, cut the clip down and used his comments as an ad for Biden's campaign. Of course, news outlets also ate this up, pushing the same narrative as the Biden campaign, which is the same thing they did regarding Trump's "bloodbath" comments that were directed at the future of the auto industry, not blood in the streets if Trump loses the election as Democrats claimed.
The Biden campaign got torched by conservatives and Trump supporters for editing down the clip and taking the comment out of context from the entire speech. Team Trump posted:
"Why is the Biden campaign constantly jumping to the defense of bloodthirsty illegal alien murderers who killed American citizens? President Trump was clearly speaking of Laken Riley's killer here."
Donald Trump Jr. also commented, stating:
"Another day and another hoax from the Biden campaign.
"It's bloodbath part two. Here is the full video where Trump is clearly calling the illegal who murdered Laken Riley an animal. Does Biden think her killer is a good person and not an animal???"
The Republican National Convention took a swing at the Biden campaign as well, stating:
"Biden's misinformation is disgusting — a pathetic, embarrassing, contemptuous affront to Americans who just want to feel safe in their own backyards.
"Never before has an American president defended illegal aliens over his country's own citizens."
Democrats are falling right into the trap that Trump set for them on this front. Trump knows when he uses inflammatory language, Democrats will cut it down and take it out of context to make it sound like Trump is encouraging violence. This allows him to control the news cycle and claim to be the victim, which has worked exceptionally well for Trump in terms of fundraising.
The truly bothersome aspect of this, however, is that the mainstream media allows Biden to do this without fact-checking the comments and calling out manipulation of the wording. This is precisely why so few Americans trust the mainstream media today.
