Australian model Sahara Ray, who once dated Justin Bieber, has died at 34 just months after giving birth to her first child, her family said.
Page Six reported that the fashion designer and internet personality passed away at a hospital, surrounded by family, after relatives shared the news Monday.
Ray leaves behind infant daughter Snow, born in January. No cause of death has been released.
Her family told TMZ she “passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital,” and added a simple line that captured the loss.
"She was so loved."
That is the full public account so far. No city, hospital name, or medical explanation has been offered. Relatives were not available to Page Six for further comment.
Ray had leaned hard into life with her baby in the months before her death.
Ahead of delivery she posted that she was headed in for an induction and mixed nerves with excitement.
"Wish me luck. I get induced today at 8 p.m. So excited, so nervous."
In April she formally introduced newborn Snow in a video of the two of them close together, writing “Baby snow hallelujah,” and pairing the moment with Justin Bieber’s 2025 track “Everything Hallelujah.”
Her last Instagram update came in July: a run of photos of the little girl and the caption “My whole heart 🤍 baby Snow.”
The death lands against a recent medical fight she had already made public.
In April 2024, Ray said she was battling Guillain-Barré syndrome after being struck by a car. The Mayo Clinic describes GBS as a condition in which the body’s immune system attacks the nerves, with symptoms that can bring weakness, numbness, or paralysis.
She told followers on TikTok how far the damage had gone.
"Right now I’m paralyzed from the tops of my upper thighs all the way down to my feet. I can’t walk at all."
She was partially paralyzed and briefly used a wheelchair. Reporting has not tied that earlier illness to her death, and the family has not said whether it played any role.
Many casual fans still know Ray from her 2016 romance with Justin Bieber. The two were seen vacationing in Hawaii in that period, including a skinny-dipping outing that drew tabloid coverage.
In 2023 she was linked to musician Mod Sun and appeared locking lips with him in a social media post. Those chapters made her a recurring name in entertainment pages, but they were years behind her when she became a mother.
Ray was also the daughter of Australian surfer Tony Ray and had built her own lane as a model and designer. Friend Becky Hearn mourned her with throwback photos and a direct goodbye, calling her “a pure one with a very big heart” and writing, “My heart is broken for you and your family. Rest in peace.”
