Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is joining Fox News as an on-air contributor starting Nov. 1, bringing firsthand campaign and administration experience to the network’s lineup.
Fox News Digital reported that FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott announced the move on Monday, with Leavitt set to offer commentary across the Fox News Channel lineup and other FOX News Media platforms.
Leavitt, 29, served as the 36th White House press secretary and the youngest in history. She held the post from January 2025 until August 2026 in President Donald Trump’s second administration before stepping away.
Scott tied the hire directly to that record.
Suzanne Scott said:
"Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape. We look forward to her providing our audience with authentic and sharp insight across all FOX News Media platforms,"
Leavitt welcomed the role and pointed back to the same approach she used in the briefing room.
Karoline Leavitt said:
"I am grateful for the opportunity to continue appearing on Fox News Channel as an official member of the extraordinary team at FOX News Media. I look forward to bringing my unique perspective from my experience as White House press secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defined my tenure, to Fox’s millions of viewers across their many platforms."
She already knew the building. Leavitt interned at Fox News during the 2016 presidential election, years before she returned as a senior Trump administration voice.
Leavitt graduated from Saint Anselm College in 2019 with a degree in politics and communication. She later worked as a presidential writer and assistant press secretary in Trump’s first administration.
She also served as communications director for then-House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik, ran as a Republican in 2022 for New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District, and worked as spokesperson for MAGA Inc. before joining Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
That path put her in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room as the administration’s public face. A March 30, 2026 briefing captured her in that role while she still held the press secretary title.
In August, Leavitt confirmed she was leaving the White House job. In a lengthy post on X, she described a “bittersweet decision” after concluding she could not balance the demands of serving as press secretary with being the mother she wants to be to her two young children.
She lives in New Hampshire with her husband, Nick, and their two young children. Related coverage noted Trump said she would leave the press secretary post and become an outside advisor; the Fox announcement places her next chapter on air starting Nov. 1.
The contributor role keeps her in the national conversation with the same direct style she used while defending the administration’s record. Fox is adding a voice who actually ran the briefing room, managed campaign messaging, and chose family when the schedule no longer fit.
Viewers will get analysis from someone who lived the job, not from people who only talked about it.
