Police in Manassas, Virginia are hunting a United Rentals employee who allegedly shot three coworkers Wednesday morning and fled the scene in a Toyota.
A manhunt is underway for 37-year-old Marvin Grant after three fellow employees were critically wounded at a workplace shooting in Manassas, Virginia. Law enforcement says the gunfire erupted Wednesday morning around 7:00 a.m., and the suspect fled before officers could take him into custody.
Breitbart News reported that Grant worked at United Rentals alongside the three victims, who remain unnamed and were listed in critical condition after the attack.
Manassas City Police identified Grant as the suspect and released a physical description to the public. Officials described him as a light-skinned Black man about 5’9” with brown eyes and brown hair.
Manassas City Police Chief Douglas said investigators believe an altercation preceded the shooting. Officers also believe a handgun was used in the attack.
No full motive has been stated beyond that reported belief about a prior clash. Police have not publicly detailed what sparked the dispute or how quickly it turned violent.
After the shots, Grant left the area. Authorities say he fled in a Toyota carrying a temporary tag from North Carolina. Full year, model, color, and plate details beyond that description were not released in the initial reporting.
A law enforcement speaker identified as Keen addressed the manhunt status directly.
Keen said:
"We know he’s fled the area. We don’t know where he’s headed to."
