Vance responds to Psaki's jab at his marriage with sharp rebuttal

 October 24, 2025, NEWS

Vice President JD Vance didn't hold back when addressing a recent comment about his wife, Usha Vance, made by former White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

Vance defended his wife against Psaki's suggestion that Usha needed rescuing from her husband, calling the remark disgraceful while affirming his gratitude for their shared journey, The Hill reported.

It's a rare moment when personal lives get dragged into the political mud, and Vance's swift response shows he's not about to let such barbs slide unchallenged.

Standing Firm Against Personal Attacks

Vance spoke to reporters with a clear message, emphasizing his wife's strength and independence. “I think it’s disgraceful, but, of course, the second lady can speak for herself,” he said, pushing back against the notion that Usha needed any saving.

He didn’t stop there, adding a heartfelt note about their bond. “I am very lucky to have a wonderful wife,” Vance stated, underlining his appreciation for their partnership.

It's refreshing to see a public figure stand up for family without hesitation. Psaki's quip might have been meant as a jest, but it landed as a cheap shot at a personal relationship that deserves respect, not ridicule.

A Podcast Jab Turns Sour

The controversy started this Tuesday on a podcast where Psaki, now a cable TV host after her Biden administration stint, took aim at Vance’s political ambitions. Her comments quickly veered into personal territory with a jab at his marriage.

“I always wonder what’s going on in the mind of his wife. Like, are you OK? Please blink four times, we’ll — come over here. We’ll save you,” Psaki said, as reported by Mediaite. It’s a line that drips with condescension, assuming Usha Vance is some damsel in distress rather than a capable partner.

Such remarks reveal more about the speaker than the target. Painting a spouse as a victim for laughs isn’t clever; it’s a lazy way to dodge substantive critique of Vance’s policies or record.

Vance’s Vision for Service

Amid the noise, Vance kept his focus on purpose, speaking about his commitment to serving the nation alongside Usha. “We’re going to keep on serving the country together,” he told reporters, referencing a recent trip to Israel.

He doubled down on his gratitude, noting, “I’m honored to have Usha by my side on this trip in particular, but always.” It’s a reminder that behind the political battles, there’s a real partnership fueling his work.

This kind of dedication shouldn’t be mocked but recognized as a strength. While critics like Psaki fixate on personal digs, Vance seems intent on keeping his eye on the bigger mission.

Questioning the Progressive Playbook

Psaki’s broader critique labeled Vance as a “chameleon” who shifts to please his audience, calling him “scary” and “ambitious.” It’s a familiar tactic from the left, framing conservative figures as calculating rather than principled.

Yet, her attempt to psychoanalyze his marriage crosses a line from policy disagreement to personal slander. Why not stick to debating his record instead of speculating on his home life?

This incident highlights a troubling trend in political discourse where personal attacks substitute for real arguments. If the progressive agenda is so superior, surely it can stand on its own without dragging the family into the fray.
