Foreign intel foresaw FBI's role in Trump-Russia narrative

 July 28, 2025, NEWS

Brace yourself for a bombshell that could shake the foundations of trust in our intelligence community: foreign sources reportedly predicted the FBI’s dive into the Trump-Russia collusion story with chilling precision, long before the bureau’s infamous probe even began.

According to exclusive insights shared with Fox News Digital, U.S. intelligence had credible information from foreign actors forewarning the FBI’s involvement in pushing a controversial narrative linking Donald Trump to Russia, setting the stage for the Crossfire Hurricane investigation and raising questions about coordination within our government.

In the summer of 2016, before the FBI took any official action, then-CIA Director John Brennan briefed President Barack Obama and top officials, including Joe Biden, Loretta Lynch, and James Comey, on a plan tied to Hillary Clinton’s campaign to paint Trump as a Russian asset.

Early Warnings of a Political Maneuver

Brennan’s notes from that meeting, later declassified by then-Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe in 2020, revealed a Clinton campaign advisor’s scheme to stir up a scandal over Russian interference as a distraction from other controversies.

Just days after this briefing, as if on cue, the FBI launched Crossfire Hurricane on July 31, 2016, a counterintelligence probe into whether Trump’s campaign was colluding with Russia to sway the election.

A source familiar with the intel, speaking anonymously due to the sensitivity of the matter, told Fox News Digital that the timing is impossible to ignore, suggesting a level of foresight that’s “hard to explain away” for Brennan, Comey, and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

Declassification Promises Damning Revelations

Now, CIA Director John Ratcliffe is poised to declassify a classified annex tied to Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation into the origins of this very probe, potentially exposing a coordinated effort within the government to bolster Clinton’s narrative.

“What the intelligence shows...is that part of this was a Hillary Clinton plan, but part of it was an FBI plan to be an accelerant to the fake Russia collusion claims,” Ratcliffe recently stated on Fox News’ "Sunday Morning Futures" with Maria Bartiromo.

Let’s unpack that: if true, it’s not just a campaign dirty trick, but a taxpayer-funded agency fanning the flames of a story that Special Counsel Robert Mueller later found had no legs—no evidence of conspiracy or coordination between Trump’s team and Russia after nearly two years of digging.

FBI’s Failure Under the Microscope

Durham’s report didn’t mince words, concluding that the FBI “failed to uphold” its mission of strict fidelity to the law by ignoring clear warning signs that it was being manipulated for political ends in 2016.

“Had the FBI opened the Crossfire Hurricane investigation as an assessment... the information received would likely have been examined, at a minimum, with a more critical eye,” Durham’s findings noted, pointing to a startling lapse in judgment.

That’s a polite way of saying the bureau may have been played like a fiddle, and now, with Ratcliffe working alongside FBI Director Kash Patel, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and others to release this annex, the public might finally see the full score.

Criminal Probes Target Top Officials

Speaking of accountability, Patel has already opened criminal investigations into Brennan and Comey, while Gabbard has sent criminal referrals targeting additional Obama-era officials, signaling that this isn’t just a history lesson—it’s a live wire.

A former senior Trump official told Fox News Digital that Ratcliffe pushed to release this intelligence years ago, only to be stalled by Durham’s hesitance over fears of appearing politicized, a delay that some might argue only deepened the public’s distrust.

So here we are, years after a narrative gripped the nation, with declassified documents and ongoing probes peeling back layers of what looks like a calculated effort to sway opinion, not just votes, leaving conservatives to wonder: if foreign actors saw this coming, why didn’t our guardians of justice?
