Unveiled on Saturday, the plan looks to prevent the government from shutting down on March 14 by securing funds through the end of September. It includes provisions to escalate defense spending by approximately $6 billion, compensated by a $13 billion reduction in domestic allocations.
Among the prominent points of criticism is the bill's provision to boost Immigration and Customs Enforcement funding for deportations, a move that Senate Democrats, including top negotiator Sen.
