Pennsylvania Woman Accused Of Fraudulently Registering Deceased Voters

 December 24, 2024

Authorities have charged Jennifer Hill, a resident of Chester, Pennsylvania, with serious legal offenses.

They detained Hill for attempting to register deceased individuals, including her father, to vote using a digital application, Fox News reported.

An Investigation Unearths Voter Registration Fraud

Authorities arrested Jennifer Hill on a Thursday and charged her with multiple offenses, including felony forgery and tampering with public records. According to the district attorney's office, Hill attempted to register four deceased individuals using the Pennsylvania Department of State's voter registration app while working for the New Pennsylvania Project.

Hill allegedly enrolled 324 individuals through the app, registering 181 successfully while rejecting 129 applications. Among them, she fabricated an identity by combining her grandmother's name with a fictitious birthdate.

Dual State Voting Raises Concerns

Incidentally, another resident was involved in the issue of illegal voter activities. Authorities accused 84-year-old Philip Moss of casting ballots in both Florida and Delaware County through mail-in voting. This compound scenario highlights growing concerns about voter registration abuse.

Delaware County's Democratic district attorney, Jack Stollsteimer, categorized Jennifer Hill's actions as an attempt to inflate her work accomplishments to maintain employment status. "She knows that because she was the person who called the police to come when he died in her house," Stollsteimer explained, illuminating the extent of Hill's knowledge about the deceased.

Jack Stollsteimer clarified,

Literally what this woman did was to pad the numbers for her employment. She started registering people that were dead. One of them was her father, and she did register a fraudulent person.

The New Pennsylvania Project voiced its dismay over the allegations against Hill. They assured the public that no wrongful casting of votes occurred with the fraudulent registrations. Kadida Kenner, an executive of the group, reassured the public about their stringent controls: "Due to the hard work of many individuals to prevent disruptive actions by bad actors, our voting rolls and elections are secure, and no fraudulent ballots were cast," she stated.

Nonpartisan Efforts to Ensure Election Integrity

The company emphasized its nonpartisan stance and clarified that its employees, like Jennifer Hill, do not receive bonuses or financial incentives based on the number of voters they register. "Our employees have no quota to meet, and hourly wages paid to part-time canvassing employees remain the same no matter the number of voter registration applications collected," Kenner explained.

Kadida Kenner elaborated,

Our registration efforts are not and will never be dictated by an election cycle. As a nonpartisan organization, our year-round voter registration efforts are not directed, in coordination, or aligned with any political party or candidate.

In the aftermath of Jennifer Hill's arrest, the community and stakeholders await the judicial proceedings. Investigations continue to secure the integrity of voter registrations and prevent future abuses.

This incident sheds light on the critical need for vigilance and robust verification processes in voter registration to safeguard democratic processes.
