DNC Fundraiser Criticizes Party’s Support for Kamala Harris's Potential Comeback

 December 19, 2024

In a candid critique, Democratic National Committee fundraiser Lindy Li has openly criticized her party's support for Vice President Kamala Harris contemplating a future political run.

According to Fox News, Lindy Li's criticism came amidst conversations regarding the Democratic Party's direction following Harris's significant 2024 electoral defeat.

DNC fundraiser Lindy Li expressed concerns on "America's Newsroom" about the feasibility of a political comeback for Harris. This follows after the Vice President faced a decisive defeat in the recent presidential election, losing every swing state on November 5, 2024.

Harris's Defeat and DNC's Reflective Stance

Despite the setback, DNC Executive Board member Yvette Lewis showed unwavering support for Harris, stating she was "on board 100 percent" with whatever Harris decides to do in the future and praised her as a "phenomenal candidate." This contrasted sharply with Li's perspective, who deemed the party delusional for entertaining the idea of Harris running for California governor in 2026 or for the presidency again in 2028.

Vice President Kamala Harris acknowledged her defeat in a concession speech at Howard University in Washington, D.C., the day following the election. Her campaign efforts included a notable but unsuccessful bid to boost her chances by enlisting media giant Oprah, reportedly paying her $1 million to aid in her campaign.

Democrats are now reassessing their message and strategy in light of the defeat, with Adam Schiff, a prominent party member, admitting that the loss was a collective failure, not just that of Harris. Meanwhile, some of Harris's former aides suggest she has limited time to decide her next steps but recommended creating an entity to maintain her political influence.

Internal Party Critiques and Cultural Focus

Lindy Li shared the consequences of being outspoken, revealing that such honesty cost her tens of thousands of followers. According to Li, her frankness led others in the party to label her as a traitor to the party's conventional stance.

Here is what Lindy Li said:

This is not what America wants. November 5th was a decisive defeat for the Democratic Party. She lost every single swing state. It wasn't a squeaker like it was in 2016. This was a resounding defeat and, right now, Kamala Harris is indulging in delusions of running for governor of California, possibly in 2026 or even president again in 2028. America has said, 'We don't want to be coconut-pilled. We do not want Kamala Harris. We don't want failed border policies,' and I feel like I'm liberated, and I can finally tell the truth that the Democrats completely failed on the border.

In addition to her critical remarks about the party’s support for Harris, Li also vehemently criticized the Democrats for engaging in what she sees as irrelevant cultural debates which, in her view, alienate mainstream America.

Reflecting on Core Issues and Public Perception

Li emphasized the importance of addressing 'bread and butter' issues that concern everyday Americans such as economic stability and strong border policies. As a naturalized immigrant herself, Li argued that caring about these core issues does not equate to sexism or racism.

A close associate of Harris hinted that despite the electoral defeat, there is a segment of the public keen to hear from the Vice President in the future, suggesting her potential influence might persist in the political landscape.

The discourse within the Democratic Party following the recent presidential defeat underscores significant tensions and diverse perspectives on the path forward. Lindy Li's candid critique represents a faction within the party pushing for reevaluation of their electoral strategy and public messaging, focusing less on divisive issues and more on substantive concerns of the general populace.

This internal reflection appears crucial as the party seeks to redefine its identity and regain the trust of American voters.
