Teamsters President Torches Democrat Party in Vicious Rant

 October 9, 2024

In what had to be a shock to Democrats, the Teamsters Union did not endorse a presidential candidate for this election.

Even more stunning, Union President Sean O'Brien obliterated Democrats this week with a vicious rant against the party.

Talking Points…
- Teamsters decline endorsement
- O'Brien goes off on Democrats
- Analysis

Teamsters Decline Endorsement in Presidential Election

This election season was a bit odd for Democrats in terms of expected endorsements. Harris has missed two major union endorsements, something you rarely see in a presidential election. This was especially surprising since Biden just gave unions $36 billion to top off their pension funds.

O'Brien met with both candidates as well as taking multiple surveys among membership, vowing to allow members to have a say in an endorsement that is usually decided by its corrupt leadership that both funnels money to Democrat campaigns as well as feasting on money from the government, such at that massive $36 billion payday Biden gave them.

Well, the membership overwhelmingly supported Donald Trump. In an electronic poll, nearly 60% of members supported Trump. In a phone survey, 58% backed Trump. Yet, when it came time to make an endorsement, O'Brien announced that the union would be sitting this one out. He stated:

"Unfortunately, neither major candidate was able to make serious commitments to our union to ensure the interests of working people are always put before Big Business.

"We sought commitments from both Trump and Harris not to interfere in critical union campaigns or core Teamsters industries – and to honor our members' right to strike – but were unable to secure those pledges."

Trump took the non-endorsement by O'Brien and the significant backing of membership as a big win, and he should. He stated:

"It's a great honor. They're not going to endorse the Democrats. That's a big thing.

"Democrats automatically have the Teamsters. They took a vote, and I guess I was at 60% or more, and that's a great honor."

O'Brien Goes Off on Democrats

O'Brien has been getting another 15 minutes of fame for not endorsing anyone, and he is making the most of it. In his most recent interview, which was done on the "This Past Weekend" podcast with comedian Theo Von, he stated:

"I'm a Democrat, but they have f---ed us over for the last 40 years.

"And for once – and not all – but for once, we're standing up as a union, probably the only one right now, saying, 'what the f--- have you done for us?'"

He later added:

"So it's like, you know, people say the Democratic Party is the party of the working people – they're bought and paid for by Big Tech.

"And you've got the Republicans who are now saying, 'hey, we want to be the working class party,' right? And, okay, you've got a great opportunity right now to do that."

Analysis

Personally, I think O'Brien is a clown, but that is a different conversation. But I think he proved that during this interview. Democrats have fed unions tens of billions of dollars over the years to top off their pension funds from all the corruption that bleeds them dry. Even so, membership clearly wants to go in a different direction, but rather than offend the Democrats outright, he merely sat the election out.

This goes to show you how corrupt these unions really are. What else does he want for an endorsement? Unions are coddled by Democrats, but they only people getting rich are leadership, who make massive salaries while getting kickbacks and tapping into pension funds. There may be some honest unions out there, but I would be surprised. I am glad the union did not endorse Harris, but at the same time, I am glad that Trump did not cave to the demands to get their vote.
