According to Real Clear Politics, a Secret Service agent is under investigation for allegedly sexually assaulting a member of Vice President Kamala Harris' team in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The attack allegedly happened at a hotel during a team outing, witnessed by several people. It occurred in September before a rally for Vice President Harris, with alcohol involved, leading to the agent's aggressive assault on a female staffer.
Afterward, the intoxicated agent was found unconscious in the hallway by colleagues, and photos were taken of him passed out.
The U.S. Secret Service acted promptly upon learning about the incident. This is the statement provided by a spokesperson from the agency:
The misconduct allegations concerning our agent are currently under thorough review by the U.S. Secret Service Office of Professional Responsibility. Given this, the accused employee has been temporarily relieved of his duties.
The agent in question has been called back to the headquarters for further investigation and has since been placed on administrative leave. This pause in duty will remain effective until a final decision is made regarding his involvement in the incident.
In response to the issues at hand, the Vice President's office clarified that they were promptly informed about the incident by the Secret Service.
