The political world is blowing up this week, and not in a good way.
Not only are there numerous reports about the debate possibly being rigged for Harris, but the Senate was just updated on the Trump assassination investigation, and even Democrats are upset.

I think we can all agree that if the Secret Service had been doing its job that day, the assassination attempt against Donald Trump never would have happened. First and foremost is the fact the shooter entered the area with a range finder and set off metal detectors, yet he was not only not detained but also allowed to continue to roam the event site.
From that point on, there are about six different instances that should have, at the very least, had the Secret Service detain the young man, but they continued to allow him in the area to the point that he was spotted climbing on a roof of a building with a gun and a clear line of sight to Trump. Then, when officers finally did approach him, they did so in a manner that gave the shooter an edge when the approach should have been tactical with the purpose of neutralizing the threat.
Finally, there was the disastrous cover and transport move that was botched so badly had there been a second shooter, Trump would be dead today. That iconic picture that was taken never would have happened had they been doing their jobs, not to mention an agent covering Trump’s front bent down to pick up Trump’s hat at one point, leaving Trump fully exposed.
As we know, Senator Blumenthal (D-CT) is no fan of Trump, but even he was outraged at the shortcomings of the Secret Service that day. He even stated that when the report is published, the American people will be “shocked” and “appalled” at what took place that day. He stated:
"I think the American people are going to be shocked, astonished and appalled by what we will report to them about the failures by the Secret Service in this assassination attempt on the former president.
"But I think they also ought to be appalled and astonished by the failure of the Department of Homeland Security to be more forthcoming, to be as candid and frank, as it should be to them in terms of providing information."
Senator Gary Peters (D-MI) added:
"It will be coming out shortly. And it'll only be an interim report because there's a lot more information that we need to find.
"And we hope once this report comes out and we can get the additional information necessary to have a complete report of what happened, as well as steps of what we need to do in the future to make sure that this never happens."
Assistant Director Michael Plati of the agency's Office of Protective Operations, who led the protection detail that day, has not been asked to resign. Still, he has been encouraged to “retire early.” Retiring should not be an option… after what happened that day, he should be terminated.
If there were ever a candidate that would be targeted, that candidate would be Trump. The left and Democrats have been targeting Trump since the 2016 election, and Democrats regularly characterize him as a threat to democracy, so it was not exactly a surprise to see someone take a shot at him.
The Secret Service should have had a top team on Trump, and from the reports I have seen, this was not the A, B, or even the C team assigned to Trump that day. We want to see accountability at this point, and it is a very valid question to wonder why nobody has been fired over this yet.
