Nikki Haley Joins Global Firm Edelman Post-Political Career

 September 5, 2024

Nikki Haley, a former governor and U.N. ambassador, has embarked on a new career path.

She recently accepted a strategic role with the global communications firm Edelman, according to Fox News.

After a vigorous campaign in the 2024 presidential primaries, Nikki Haley stepped down and threw her support behind Donald Trump.

Having carved out a significant space in both state and global politics as the governor of South Carolina and an ambassador to the United Nations, Haley is now set to bring her robust political experience to the corporate arena.

Richard Edelman, the CEO of the firm, highlighted the growing necessity of political acumen within business strategies. He remarked on the importance of politics in areas such as brand marketing and reputation management, where Haley is expected to contribute significantly.

Haley's Role Set to Boost Business Strategy Interaction

At Edelman, Nikki Haley will delve deep into the intersection of business and politics. Richard Edelman believes that her extensive background will offer clients unique insights, particularly in managing the evolving complexities of global business environments.

Richard Edelman expressed confidence in Haley's capabilities by citing her successful tenure as governor, where she attracted foreign investments to South Carolina, and her influential role in global policy while at the United Nations.

CEO Richard Edelman elaborated on Haley’s forthcoming role at the firm, revealing, “In her time as Governor, Haley had great success in attracting foreign companies to South Carolina and as Ambassador to the UN, helped lead important work on global issues.”

Haley to Spearhead New Business Visions at Edelman

Starting next month, Nikki Haley will begin her tenure with Edelman, shifting from a political career to global corporate communications and advisory services. She decided to move into the private sector after endorsing Donald Trump in July, following his nomination at the Republican National Convention.

During a recent Fox News appearance, Haley stressed the importance of respecting the electorate, a perspective she will likely bring into her new role. "You can't win on those things. The American people are smart. Treat them like they're smart," she said, emphasizing clear communication.

Excited about her new position, Haley noted, “In a time of growing complexities in business, policy, and politics — brands need to anticipate what’s coming next.

Whether managing a crisis or celebrating a success, industry leaders must be ready to communicate clearly and share their vision forward. I’m excited to join the team at Edelman to help their clients navigate the challenges ahead.”

Starting in October 2024, Haley will bring her experience and fresh perspective to Edelman, enhancing their ability to navigate the complex intersection of business and politics.
