Harris Doing Debate Prep with Google Lawyer

 August 27, 2024

This week, it was reported that Kamala Harris is using a Google attorney for her debate prep.

The Trump campaign is crying foul, citing this as a conflict of interest since the Department of Justice is involved in a lawsuit against Google.

Talking Points…
- The Google lawsuit
- Harris debate prep

DOJ Sues Google

Last year, the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Google for monopolizing digital advertising technology. The announcement regarding the lawsuit, in part, stated:

"Today, the Justice Department, along with the Attorneys General of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Virginia, filed a civil antitrust suit against Google for monopolizing multiple digital advertising technology products in violation of Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act."

Attorney General Merrick Garland further stated:

"Today's complaint alleges that Google has used anticompetitive, exclusionary, and unlawful conduct to eliminate or severely diminish any threat to its dominance over digital advertising technologies.

"No matter the industry and no matter the company, the Justice Department will vigorously enforce our antitrust laws to protect consumers, safeguard competition, and ensure economic fairness and opportunity for all."

Harris Debate Prep

Kamala Harris has been using an attorney to help her prep for her upcoming debate against Donald Trump, but the Trump campaign spotted a problem. In the suit mentioned above, one of the attorneys representing Google is Karen Dunn, who works for the legal firm Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison. Dunn is also the individual helping to prep Harris, which is a clear conflict of interest and has a quid pro quo look to it.

Trump campaign senior adviser Tim Murtaugh was living, saying that "any first-year law student knows that's a conflict of interest." He added:

"Kamala Harris will never stand up to Big Tech because she's being coached on what to say in the debates by Google's top lawyer. Think about how outrageous it is — their administration is suing Google, but Harris is taking political advice from the defendant's lawyer…"

"But it's not surprising because Big Tech and the Biden-Harris White House have been conspiring to censor and trample the rights of law-abiding citizens since they gained power."

Murtaugh also took a shot at Harris, saying:

"Some prosecutor she is. She's being coached by the defendant's lawyer."

Analysis

At best, the optics on this are horrible. At worst, it is a possible quid pro quo, where Dunn helps Harris in exchange for a lenient settlement in the government's case against Google. For Dunn, this is completely unethical, and I would be highly surprised if a complaint is not filed against her with the BAR. As I have stated before, the Dems think they are untouchable right now, so they are not even trying to hide the corruption. It should be shocking that it was the Trump campaign that found this out and not the media, proving yet again that most mainstream media outlets are nothing more than a PR wing of the Democrat Party.
