Governor Tim Walz Caught in Two More Lies

 August 26, 2024

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has only been in the national spotlight for about two weeks, but he has already proven himself a habitual liar.

Two more lies have been exposed over the weekend, and they were doozies.

Talking Points…
- Tim Walz called out over service record and other lies
- Two more lies show up on Walz's record
- Analysis

Tim Walz Record Called Out Immediately After VP Nod

Walz has a long history of either outright lying or implying something to make it look like his record was better than it is. For starters, the Dems touted him as the coach of a high school football team that won the championship, with the inference that Walz was the head coach, but that was not true. He was an assistant coach far removed from the reins of the team.

Walz made another inference about the method he and his wife used to have their children, making it sound like they used IVF, but that was not the case. Walz also made it sound like he was in Afghanistan while deployed with his National Guard unit. He was talking about a deployment one second and then discussed being at Bagram to witness the ceremony of transporting our fallen. Only when he was at Bagram was he a member of Congress doing a tour, not with his Guard Unit.

The problems with his Guard service get even more complicated. Walz has maintained for years that he retired as a Command Sergeant Major, but he was really a Sergeant Major when he retired, having lost the rank because he never completed the required classwork to make the promotion official. Walz also stated that he was up for retirement the same week the 9/11 attacks took place, but his 20-year retirement was not until August 2002. Yet, Walz has repeatedly stated that he re-upped instead of retiring because of 9/11.

Finally, there is an issue with why Walz retired. According to other battalion members, Walz told them he would retire after the unit was verbally told it was likely to be deployed to a war zone. Walz had decided to run for Congress rather than stay in the Guard, but that was not an either-or choice. We have plenty of members of Congress who continue to serve while also serving in Congress.

Two New Lies Exposed

Over the weekend, it was reported that Walz inflated his background achievements regarding a teaching program in China in which he had participated. Walz made it sound like Harvard University backed the program, but it did not. His website claimed, "With his teaching degree complete, Harvard University offered Walz an opportunity to gain a new perspective on global education by teaching in the People's Republic of China."

That program was called WorldTeach. It is a nonprofit founded by Harvard graduates. For a time, the program was funded by a "student-run community service group," but it was NOT funded by Harvard.

On top of this, Walz also had on his background that he had received an award from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce in 1993 for his local community work, but that was also a lie. His claim was rewarded with a nasty rebuke by then-president of the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce, Barry L. Kennedy, who wrote to Walz:

"We researched this matter and can confirm that you have not been the recipient of any award from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce.

"I am not going to draw a conclusion about your intentions by including this line in your biography. However, we respectfully request that you remove any reference to our organization as it could be considered an endorsement of your candidacy. However, it should be pointed out that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has endorsed your opponent, Congressman Gil Gutknecht, for his support of small business issues."

When the Harris campaign was asked to comment on the latest two lies told by Walz, it fell on the old reliable "misspoke" narrative, then went after the bad orange man to deflect. The campaign stated:

"Governor Walz speaks the way real people speak – openly and off the cuff. The American people appreciate that Gov. Walz tells it like it is and doesn't talk like a politician, and they appreciate the difference between someone who occasionally misspeaks and a pathological liar like Donald Trump."

Analysis

I finally figured all this out… when Donald Trump lies about something, it is a national headline, and the media goes ballistic. However, when we find mistruths in the background of Democrats, they only "misspoke," the excuse we heard over and over for the last four years every time Biden got caught in a lie. These were not accidental… most of these mistruths by Walz had been on his website or in his bio for years. These were outright lies, yet the Dems again are given a free pass solely due to the hatred of Donald Trump in this country.
