Actor Once Convicted by Kamala Harris Endorses Trump for Economic and Security Policies

 August 17, 2024

Jamal Trulove, a once-wrongfully convicted actor, has made headlines with his political endorsement.

According to Breitbart News, Jamal Trulove cited economic and security policies as his reasons for choosing to support Donald Trump over the current administration led by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trulove, who served six years out of a 50-year sentence for a crime he did not commit, expressed particular dissatisfaction with Vice President Harris. Trulove's charge, wrongful conviction, and later acquittal highlight a dramatic journey from imprisonment to freedom and eventual restitution.

Trulove's Shift in Political Support Over Time

While Trulove initially supported Vice President Harris during the 2020 presidential campaign, his stance has since shifted. He acknowledges changing his previous endorsement under pressure from influential advisors linked to his professional life.

Trulove recounted an instance during his sentencing when he felt personally mocked by Harris. This perceived betrayal deeply affected his view on justice and political leadership, culminating in his recent political declaration.

Economic and Security Concerns Propel Trulove's Endorsement

Explaining his decision, Trulove elaborated on various administrative aspects under Trump that he viewed as beneficial compared to the current state under Biden and Harris. Issues of the economy, border security, and international conflict were central to his critique.

“When we took at what our life was like when Trump was in office, we felt like life was good compared to right now,” Trulove noted. Economic stability and national security were the core areas he felt were better managed during Trump's term.

Jamal Trulove detailed his experiences and observations:

We wasn’t in no wars, right now we’re in wars. Illegals wasn’t coming in, but they’re coming in now. I never forget when I turned around and I looked and I seen Kamala Harris, you know, we locked eyes there this one time, and she….. and she laughed.

The wrongful conviction that originally linked Trulove and Harris was for the murder of Seu Kuka. Trulove was acquitted in 2015 after initially being sentenced in a trial prosecuted by Harris, then serving as the District Attorney of San Francisco.

Following his release, Trulove successfully sued the responsible police officers for fabricating evidence, leading to a $13.1 million settlement awarded in 2019 by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

Trulove's Journey After Acquittal

This legal victory was a rare instance of significant compensation following a wrongful conviction, spotlighting systemic issues within law enforcement and judicial processes. Trulove has promised to use all available platforms to highlight and combat such injustices further.

“And trust me I’m not done with them by a long shot!! After what these cowards of the law did to me, I will light my freedom ring through every platform I get to show what injustice looks like. Me!” he resolved.

In summary, Trulove's personal experiences with the criminal justice system and subsequent political disillusionment have informed his current political stance. His endorsement of Donald Trump signals a profound shift influenced by economic, security, and personal grievances linked directly to his past experiences with Vice President Kamala Harris's actions as a district attorney.
