Texan Woman Arrested Near White House for Allegedly Threatening Trump

 August 5, 2024

Breitbart News reported that a woman from Texas was arrested near the White House for allegedly threatening former President Donald Trump.

Christina Montoya, from San Antonio, was detained in Washington, DC, with an unlicensed firearm and a magazine, just miles from Capitol Hill and the White House.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrested Montoya on Friday after receiving information that she had traveled to the nation’s capital. Montoya, who allegedly threatened Trump, was found carrying an unregistered firearm and a magazine, according to reports from KENS 5. Despite the arrest, Trump was in the Hamptons meeting with donors on the day of the incident.

Arrest Follows Recent Assassination Attempt on Trump

The nature of the threats Montoya allegedly made against Trump remains unclear. The timeline of when she made these threats is also unknown, though the police report lists an "offense start date" of July 20, 2024. Montoya was arrested less than a mile from Capitol Hill and about three miles from the White House.

Montoya faces several charges, including possessing an unregistered firearm, carrying a pistol without a license, and making threats against a former president. Trump is listed as a victim of the latter charge.

Trump Credits God for Surviving Attack

The arrest comes in the wake of a failed assassination attempt on Trump during his outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. Trump, speaking at a subsequent rally in Atlanta, Georgia, credited God for his survival. The apparent shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire during the rally, resulting in a bullet grazing Trump’s ear.

Secret Service agents quickly responded, protecting Trump and neutralizing the threat. Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was shot and killed by Secret Service officers at the scene. Trump said at the Atlanta rally:

The first one was not a good situation, not a good situation. That was really something incredible. That was from God. That was from God. Because the chances … that was from God. For all of you non-believers, that one was from God, right?

Trump's Persistent Threats Highlighted Again

The attack on July 13 was the most serious attempt to assassinate a president or presidential candidate since Ronald Reagan was shot in 1981. During Reagan’s assassination attempt, three other people were shot, including his press secretary, James Brady, who was partially paralyzed.

In the recent Pennsylvania shooting, one bystander was killed, and two others were critically injured. The incident has raised ongoing security concerns for Trump, who continues to be a polarizing figure in American politics.

In March 2019, West Virginia State Police shut down Interstate 68 for several hours near the Maryland border after a man allegedly threatened to assassinate then-President Trump and bomb the Pentagon. These events underscore the persistent threats faced by Trump and his security detail.

Charges and Legal Proceedings Await Montoya

Montoya's case will now proceed through the legal system. The charges against her include possessing an unregistered firearm, carrying a pistol without a license, and making threats against a former president. The seriousness of these charges reflects the heightened security environment surrounding Trump.

Authorities continue to investigate the specifics of Montoya's alleged threats and her motivations. The case is likely to draw significant media attention given the high-profile nature of the target and the recent history of threats against Trump.

Conclusion

Christina Montoya, a Texan woman, was arrested near the White House for allegedly threatening former President Donald Trump. She was found with an unregistered firearm and faces multiple charges. This arrest follows a recent assassination attempt on Trump during a rally, which he survived, crediting divine intervention. The ongoing threats against Trump highlight the security challenges faced by him and his security team. Montoya’s case will now move forward in the legal system as authorities delve deeper into the nature of the threats.
