According to Fox News, Governor Josh Shapiro called off several campaign events in the Hamptons just days before Vice President Kamala Harris announced her choice for a running mate.
Shapiro, who was slated as a "special guest" at an event for The Next 50, a youth advocacy group, withdrew from the weekend events without a declared reason.
His office confirmed the change but provided no further details. Manuel Bonder, spokesperson for Shapiro, stated, "The governor’s trip was planned ... and included several fundraisers for his campaign committee."
