Biden's Dog Involved in Series of Secret Service Agent Attacks

 June 16, 2024

The presidency of Joe Biden has encountered unusual challenges, including repeated instances where his dog, Commander, attacked numerous Secret Service agents.

According to Daily Wire, over a two-year timeline, Commander, a German Shepherd, has bitten and injured various members of the Secret Service.

These incidents have raised significant safety concerns among the agents, prompting conversations about potentially muzzling the dog to prevent further attacks. The concerns intensified after an incident where one agent suffered a severe injury resulting in substantial blood loss.

President Biden’s pets have historically attracted attention, but the spotlight has shifted negatively with the Commander’s aggressive behavior. This follows the rehoming of Biden’s previous dog, Major, also due to aggression issues.

President’s Presence During Attacks Raises Questions

The records show that President Biden was present during numerous incidents, including a particularly severe attack on September 12, 2023. During this incident, the Commander bit an agent twice in the Kennedy Garden. Following this September attack, Biden intervened verbally, which was documented at the time. The interventions, however, have done little to curb the repeated aggressive incidents.

Another troubling episode on September 25 resulted in further distress among the Secret Service members, where they expressed the need for stricter control measures like muzzling the dog. The debate over how to handle the aggressive behavior has culminated in urgent discussions among personnel regarding safety protocols. Particularly, the severe injury at Biden’s beach home in July 2023 underscored the critical nature of the situation.

According to judicial documents obtained through FOIA litigation by Judicial Watch, there have been at least 24 documented attacks, and perhaps as many as 36. They reflect a recurring concern for those tasked with guarding the President.

Legal Implications and Public Safety Concerns

The repeated attacks have led to a mandatory review of safety protocols within the Secret Service, with agents now wishing each other a “safe shift” as a semi-jocular acknowledgment of the ongoing risk.

Amid these troubling circumstances, one particularly severe attack detailed by the sources involved a Commander running towards a post, resulting in a Secret Service agent experiencing a deep wound and significant blood loss. "FYI- there was a dog bite and the Officer may need to go to the hospital ... Have a safe no information whether Biden was there for that one. Can we please find a way to get this dog muzzled."

Such incidents underscore the tension between maintaining the family’s comfort with their pets and ensuring the safety of those assigned to protect the President and his family.

Conclusion

The issue of the President's dog-biting service agents may seem minor in the vast spectrum of presidential issues, but it casts a light on the everyday challenges and safety concerns faced by Secret Service agents. It also raises questions about the appropriate balance between personal and public spheres for high-profile figures like the President.

The situation with the Commander is an ongoing concern, possibly affecting the operation and morale within the presidential security details. This challenge is yet another unique story emerging from the Biden administration, revealing the often unseen complexities of life within the White House grounds.

Commander’s legacy may now be marred by these aggressive episodes, particularly as they begin to overshadow other aspects of the Biden presidency. As discussions continue, the safety and well-being of those around the dog remain a priority, encapsulating a peculiar yet serious facet of presidential life.
