Joe Biden and this administration have been a driving force to have Israel declare a limited cease-fire so that hostages can be freed, aid can be delivered, and more Palestinians can be evacuated from the area.
Biden seems to have forgotten one thing, however.
Prior to the release of the hostages, there was ample criticism about the deal.
For instance, former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton, who also served in the Trump administration, stated:
"The deal itself, at least as I understand the terms as they've been announced, is a very bad deal for Israel.
"It's another swap of hostages — innocent victims — for criminals that are in Israeli jails at a ratio of 3:1 in favor of the Hamas terrorists."
On Friday, the limited cease-fire between Hamas and Israel took place, with roughly two dozen hostages being freed at the time.
Early reports stated that 13 Israelis, 10 Thai citizens, and one Filipino citizen had been freed in the first wave. We later found out the 4-year-old American girl, Abigail Mor Edan, was among the 17 additional hostages that were set free on Sunday.
Joe Biden stated:
"Abigail was among 13 hostages released today from Gaza under the brokered and sustained though intensive U.S. diplomacy. She is now safely in Israel. And we continue to press and expect for additional Americans will be released as well."
There was no report on the rest of the hostages being released, however.
The White House dropped a bit of a surprise on the American people with a disturbing admission.
Biden, while vacationing at a multi-million estate in Nantucket, MA, admitted that he had no idea when the American hostages taken by Hamas would be released.
Biden stated:
"We don't know when that will occur, but we're going to expect it to occur.
"We don't know what the list of all the hostages are and when they will be released, but we know the numbers that are going to be released, So, it's my hope and expectation it will be soon."
Biden went on to say that they did not even have information on the condition of American hostages.
Since a significant portion of the costs of this war against Hamas are going to come out of the pockets of taxpayers, it is only natural to assume that our hostages should have been at the top of the "set free" list given to Hamas.
The fact they were not, Biden has no idea when they will be freed, and offering no insight into their condition is a problem.
It once again shows how weak Biden is on this front, allowing Hamas to dictate the terms rather than the United States using its influence to ensure the American hostages were all in the first wave of hostages released.
The terms of the overall release were unacceptable, as Bolton stated. Hamas had agreed to release 50 prisoners in exchange for 150 prisoners taken by Israel during the war, most, if not all, of whom are believed to be Hamas fighters.
Why was there a 3:1 ratio in favor of Hamas, and why are they getting back terrorists who will join the fight again the moment they get back across the Gaza border?
The United States and its allies continue to get run over, and there are exactly two words that describe why… Joe Biden.
