House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. James Comer has announced his committee's discovery of incriminating evidence against President Biden, with an impeachment vote expected in early Spring 2024.
The investigation, launched earlier this year, scrutinizes President Biden and his family's business activities.
Comer, leading the committee, claims to have found "smoking guns" indicating criminal activities.
These alleged crimes include money laundering, tax evasion, and securities fraud. Comer also suggests that the President lied "at least a dozen times" about his involvement in his family's business dealings.
Adding to the gravity of the situation, the investigation is probing a possible government cover-up of the Biden family's activities. This extends the scope and potential impact of the committee's findings.
Comer revealed that the committee plans to depose approximately 24 people within the next 45 days. These individuals are presumed to have connections to the Biden family's business affairs, Breitbart reported.
Once these depositions and interviews are concluded, the Oversight Committee aims to finalize its investigative report. This report, Comer asserts, will contain the "smoking guns" necessary for a substantive case against the President.
The committee's findings will subsequently be handed over to the House Judiciary Committee. This will potentially set the stage for drafting articles of impeachment against President Biden.
Assuming the committees' investigations proceed without delay, Comer anticipates a House impeachment vote against Biden in early Spring 2024.
Comer expressed his views on the investigation in a recent statement. He said, "[I] think we produced many smoking guns. There are people in the mainstream media that want to say otherwise. But poll after poll comes out and shows that the American people are keeping up with this investigation and they realize that something bad is going on here."
He elaborated on the seriousness of the crimes under investigation, stating, "And the president of the United States has been dishonest with the American people. He has lied at least a dozen times about who he met with and what level of involvement he had in his family policy criminal activities. That is what there. We are talking about money laundering... talking about tax evasion. We are talking about securities fraud, and on and on and on. These are very serious crimes that any other American would have gone to prison over."
The next few months will undoubtedly be a period of tense anticipation as the nation awaits the results of the committees' investigations.
