The attack by Hamas against Israel has brought the reality of the Biden administration crashing down on both the American people and the world.
If we have a strong personality in the White House, America is perceived as being strong, so our allies are then at risk.
Recent polling shows that people are finally realizing that while they did not like Trump, his policies were better for this country.
Several weeks ago, there was a poll that was dismissed as an outlier, but it was actually just a sign of things to come.
Trump was leading Biden by 10 points, while subsequent polling did not show that much of a gap, Trump has steadily been distancing himself from Biden.
The new CBS News poll gives Trump a more favorable rating on the economy, with 45% believing the economy would be better under Trump, while 32% it would be worse, and 23% believe it would not make a difference.
Biden's numbers were drastically worse, with only 18% agreeing that a second term for Biden would be good for their wallets.
A real eye-opener was in terms of the country being safer under Trump than Biden.
Of those surveyed, 43% believed we would be less likely to get into a war with Trump as president, while 49% believed we would be more likely to get into a war if Joe Biden won the election.
The polls are not the only place where Joe Biden is losing support.
Recently, Rep. Phillips (D-MN) resigned from his leadership positions to announce that he was running for president. He insists that he is not running against Joe Biden but rather to offer Americans another choice, as is reflected in the polling, with an overwhelming majority of voters wanting to see another candidate in this race.
Rep. Clyburn (D-S.C.) has also stated that he is not particularly fond of the message being sent out with Bidenomics.
We have also seen many of the pundits who tried to ram Biden down everyone's throat in 2020 as the common-sense choice calling for Biden to step down and allow a younger Democrat to take up this fight.
My biggest concern about Trump is how drastically his numbers will fall if he is convicted of a felony, with roughly half of his supporters saying they would not vote for him.
Having said that, while he and Biden have been more or less even since Biden pulled out of Afghanistan, Trump has now created some distance between himself and Joe, and it is clearly worrying the Democrat Party, so much so they broke the glass on Obama this week, who expressed his support for Biden on X.
We are still a long way from the handles being pulled, and a lot can happen between now and next November, with Trump's legal problems being the most significant factor in how this will all play out.
If, somehow, Trump can wiggle his way out of the legal problems, it does now appear that he could beat Biden in a general election, and that is the first time I have been even remotely comfortable saying that.
But again, this situation is about as fluid as it gets, so this is one time where you will not see me make a bold prediction... at least not yet.
