A very senior State Department official has resigned.
The reason is quite disturbing, citing the sale of arms to Israel.
Josh Paul, a senior official in the State Department’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, posted his resignation letter on LinkedIn.
He wrote:
“I made myself a promise that I would stay for as long as I felt the harm I might do could be outweighed by the good I could do. In my 11 years I have made more moral compromises than I can recall, each heavily, but each with my promise to myself in mind, and intact.
“I am leaving today because I believe that in our current course with regards to the continued — indeed, expanded and expedited — provision of lethal arms to Israel — I have reached the end of that bargain.”
He went on to blast the American response to the Hamas attack against Israel.
Paul stated:
“This Administration’s response — and much of Congress’ as well — is an impulsive reaction built on confirmation bias, political convenience, intellectual bankruptcy, and bureaucratic inertia. That is to say, it is immensely disappointing, and entirely unsurprising.”
Israel is the United States’ primary ally in the Middle East, yet we have what seems to be a growing contingent of Democrats who do not support Israel.
We can start with Rep. Tlaib (D-MI), who ran with the fake news narrative that Israel had bombed a hospital in Gaza. She continued to push that narrative at a rally even after it was proven that the missile that struck the hospital was a misfire by Hamas.
There were 13 Democrat members of the House demanding Israel call a cease-fire after it was attacked.
Jill Biden hosted a function this week at the White House for a group that is on the record making anti-Semitic comments toward Israel.
Even Joe Biden, for all his tough talk supporting Israel, held Netanyahu over a barrel for his visit to force Israel to allow Egypt to supply aid to Gaza, the home base of Hamas.
The media seems to concentrate on MAGA as the extremists in our political world, but they are ignoring this growing sentiment within the Democrat Party that goes against everything our Founders and Framers envisioned when the United States was founded.
Supporting Israel should not even be questioned, yet we have members of Congress not only pushing back but sticking up for the terrorist state that allows Hamas to exist.
If you allow them to exist within your border, are you not complicit in their actions by default?
It is beyond troublesome that we have growing support for this in our country. For instance, on Wednesday, a pro-Palestinian protest swarmed the Capitol, but I can guarantee you those arrested will not be treated as harshly as those from January 6.
Everything the left does these days is just excused, emboldening them even more.
Our country is rotting from the inside out, and it started with members of Congress whose allegiance clearly does not lie with the United States of America.
The fact that we had a member of our State Department resign because we are enabling an ally to defend itself against terrorists is an ever bigger red flag, and Mr. Paul is far from the first non-elected government official who has raised these concerns.
Look no further than Robert Malley, Biden’s special envoy to Iran, who also worked in the Obama administration, who, at least in my eyes, was clearly working on behalf of Iran, not the United States.
Yet, for some reason, the mainstream media continues to overlook this trend, and most Americans are just oblivious to this taking place.
