Joe Biden has done it again…
The man cannot help himself in making up stories about things he has done, but this one is about as bad as it gets.
I would even go so far as to say it is borderline stolen valor, only against first responders instead of our service members.
First and foremost, it is pretty shameful that Joe Biden was not at one of the locations of the assault against this country on September 11, 2001.
Since the attack, every president has commemorated the event in New York, Virginia, or Pennsylvania, where the three attacks occurred, but Biden made his remarks from Alaska.
During his address at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, Biden stated:
“Ground Zero, New York. I remember standing there the next day and looking at the building. I felt like I was looking through the gates of hell; it looked so devastated because of…where you could stand.”
That, however, is a complete and utter lie.
How do we know this is a lie?
Well, Joe was on the Senate floor in DC when he claims to have been at Ground Zero. He even gave a speech on the floor that day.
Biden stated:
“Some have said, yesterday and today, that all has changed for America.
“I know what they mean by that … but I pray that is not true … the one thing we cannot allow to change are the values upon which this country is built, for if that were to occur, then they would be able to declare victory.”
Biden's first recorded trip to Ground Zero was on September 20, 2001, with a Senate delegation.
I am guessing the White House Biden fact-checking team will have to work some magic to let us know what Joe meant to say, rather than what he actually said.
This can no longer be accepted by the media, period.
Biden gets away with a lot of stories, but this one is simply unforgivable.
When you think of the first responders and volunteers who actually had boots on the ground at that time, the illness and death that befell many of them for working to find survivors and retrieve the bodies of the fallen, it is shameful that Biden would say he was there when he was not.
Nothing sickens me more than stolen valor, and I think this is just as bad.
At that moment, we were at war of sorts, and our first responders and volunteers were the soldiers on the front line of that war.
He must be called out on this and confronted with the facts, to his face, not Karine Jean-Pierre.
He must be called a liar to his face, and make him respond to the actual facts of the day.
We can no longer say, "Well, that is Joe being Joe." That does not fly here.
